HIN4011 - Advanced Readings in Hindi

Course description fall 2010: here no link to course content but to the following text:
Reading of the play Andha Yug (The Age of Darkness) by Dharmvir Bharati
Andha Yug is one of the most significant plays of modern India. Written immediately after the
partition of the Indian subcontinent, the play is a profound reflection on the politics of
violence and intransigent selfishness. Andha Yug takes place on the last day of the Great
Mahabharata War and concentrates on some events following the defeat of the Kauravas. The
language of this play is highly lyrical and a typical example for the poetic style in this period.
