Day 01 [21/12/15] : Guwahati Rly Station - Shillong (100 kms / 03 hrs) Travel to Shillong (4,900 ft.), called "Scotland of the East". Visit Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 02 [22/12/15] : Shillong Sightseeing
After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum, Wards Lake, Cathedral Catholic Church, Botanical Garden and Lady Hydari Park. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 03 [23/12/15] : Shillong Mawlynnong - Dawki
After breakfast visit the cleanest village in India. It is situated 90 Km. From Shillong and besides the picturesque village, offers Move to Dawki, which is along the Indo-Bangladesh border. Evening back to Shillong.
Day 04 [24/12/15] : Cherrapunji
After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji (4,400 ft.), the wettest place in the world. Visit the beautiful waterfall known as Nohkalikai. This waterfall towers to a height of 1100 feet (335 m) and visit Laitkynsew (Living root bridge). Also explore the caves known as Mawsmai. Evening return to Shillong, enroute visit Elephant falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 05 [25/12/15] : Christmas
Day 06 [26/12/15] : Mawsynram
Mawsynram is located near Shillong which is only a three hour mountain drive from it. Mawsynram is dotted with a cave called Mawjymbuin. The stalagmite naturally fashioned into a Shivalinga inside the cave is truly noteworthy. Symper Rock is another attraction which is a loaf-shaped rocky dome with an almost flat roof. Return to Shillong.
Day 07 [27/12/15] : Shopping @ Shillong
Day 08 [28/12/15] : Shillong - Guwahati
After breakfast move to Guwahati. On reaching Guwahati visit Kamakhya Temple, then visit the State Museum (if time permits) / Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra commonly known as Kalakshetra is a cultural institution in the Panjabari area of Guwahati, Assam; and evening can go to either Tirupati Balaji Temple / in an evening cruise in the mighty Bramhaputra River. Stay at Guwahati near railway station.
