Technology Policy

1. "If you don't finish today's classwork on the computer,


tomorrow you're using paper." The opportunity to use
technology/ computers in the classroom is a privilege,
not a right.
2. Students in my classroom will be provided access to
technology in classrooms, Library Media Centers, and
labs for educational purposes. Students must follow the
established guidelines for acceptable use of technology
in order to maintain the privilege of access to
technology.
3. Students may not use any hand held devices in the
classroom (cell phones, smart phones, smart watches,
MP3 players/iPods, tablets/iPads cameras, etc.) without
the explicit permission of the teacher. All hand held
devices should be turned off and packed away during
class and school hours. If you need to get ahold of your
child you may call or contact the office and
communicate to your student in that way.
Digital Citizenship
Good digital citizenship is good citizenship. Citizenship is
expected whether student activity is in person or online,
whether in the hallway or on a computer. The following rules
of citizenship should guide all use of technology and good
behavior is expected of all students and staff:
1. Respect and Protect Yourself
2. Respect and Protect Others
3. Respect and Protect Property
Equipment Uses
Students will be expected to be careful when using
computer/technology equipment and follow all directions for
proper use. Any student who does not use the computer
equipment properly or deliberately damages the computer
equipment will receive consequences to be determined by

the principal and the teacher together.


Consequences of Misuse
Students guilty of misusing the schools technology will
receive consequences according to the nature and severity
of the misuse. Consequences will be similar to the
consequences for violating other school rules and may
include being given limited or no access to technology for a
stated amount of time.

Parent and student signature will be required for technology
usage form. Please sign and return to school office.

Parental/Guardian Consent Form


We are sending you this consent form to both inform you and to request
permission for your childs photo/image and personally identifiable
information to be published on the district and/or schools/ teachers web site.
As you are aware, there are potential dangers associated with the posting of
personally identifiable information on a web site since global access to the
Internet does not allow us to control who may access the information. These
dangers have always existed; however, we as schools do want to celebrate
your child and his/her work. The law requires that we ask for your
permission to use information about your child.
We will not release any identifiable information without prior written
consent from you as parent or guardian. Identifiable information includes
student names, photo or image, and locations and times of class trips.
If you, as the parent or guardian, wish to rescind this agreement, you may do
so at any time in writing by sending a letter to the principal of your school
and such rescission will take effect upon delivery by the school.
