INTRODUCTION

Inthisfinalassignment,everyoneofusisformedintoa
groupof45peoplebyourlecturerMr.Shankar.Inthis
assignment,wearerequiredtochoose5conceptsindifferent
chapterstodoastorycomicandalso5conceptsinotherdifferent
chapterstodoastoryvideo.Alloftheconceptsandtheoriesthat
wechosehavebeentaughtbyourlecturerinclass.

Forthecomicthatwehavedone,wedidastorywhichis
entitledFatherandSonBusiness.The5conceptsthatwehave
appliedareobservationallearning(Chapter5Scene1),
stereotyping(Chapter3Scene2),socialloafing(Chapter1
Scene3),selfservingbias(Chapter4Scene4),motivation
(Chapter2Scene5)

Forthevideothatwedid,everyoneofushadone

understandingoftheappliedtopics.Now,weareabletorealise
andapplyalloftheseconceptsinourlifeaswell.

METHODOLOGY

Apparatus&Materials:

Theapparatusandmaterialsthatweusedinthestoryofthe
comicaretwopiecesofA3papers,somewatercolorsandalsoa
fewartlinepens.Besidesthat,theapparatusandmaterialsused
inthestoryofthevideoareCanonDSLRs,NikonDSLRs,
Macbook,samsung,Iphone6Srosegold,Iphone6Srosegold
plus,books,documentsfilesandalsosomeotherstationery.

b.Procedure:

Onthe18thofDecember2015,wehadourfirstdiscussion
meetinginBlockE,E4.07(24P.M.)inTaylorsLakeside
Campus.Onthatday,wedistributedtheworktoeachand
everypersoninourgroupforthestoryofthecomicproject.
Wechose5conceptsin5differentchaptersamong10
chapters.Wealsodiscussedwhichconceptsaremore
suitabletobetheintroductionortheconclusionforthestory.

Onthe28thofDecember2015,wehadoursecondmeeting
inBlockE,E4.08(34P.M)whichisinTaylorsUniversity
LakesideCampus.Onthatday,wediscussedaboutthe
progressionofthestoryofthecomic.

Onthe31stofDecember2015,wehaveourthirdmeetingat
BlockE,E3.14(911A.M)forourlastprogressionofthe
storyofourcomic.Movingon,wediscussedaboutthe
secondpartofourassignmentwhichisthestoryofthe
video.Wediscussedaboutthecharacteristicsthateachand
everyoneofushadtoparticipatein,wealsodistributedthe
scripttoeveryonesothatwecanallmemorizeourown
parts.

Onthe11thofJanuary2015,wehadourfirstvideo
shootingincampus.Itisaclassroomfortheschoolofmass
communication,butwestillmanagedtouseitforour
shootingsession.Wedid3scenesonthatday.Thefirst
andsecondscenewereinthewhiteroom,whilethethird
scenewasoutsideoftheUniversityslibrary.

Onthe18thofJanuary2015,wehadourlastmeetingand
alsovideoshooting.ItwasinBlockC,atthecomputerlabof
TaylorsUniversityLakesideCampus.Onthatday,wefilmed
thelast2scenes,whichwerethefourthsceneandalsothe
fifthscene.Afteralloftheprogression,discussionandalso
agreementduringallthosedays,wefinalizedourvideoand
alsotheeditingprocess.Nowwearewellpreparedforour
lastpresentationwhichisthe5conceptsin5different
chapterstomakeastoryinavideo.

Comic

Storyline:
Thiscomicisaboutarichkid,JohnnyJaydenwhowasbornina
richfamily.Hisdadwantedhimtogetajobpositioninhis
company.AllhiscolleaguesknowthisandthinkthatJohnnyisa
richkidwhohasbeenspoiledandpamperedtoomuchbyhis
parentsanddoesnotevenknowhowtodoanything.Healways
fallasleepduringthemeetingswithhiscolleagues.However,
wheneversomeonewakeshimupandscoldshim,hewillfind
someexcusessuchasblamingtheweatherformakinghimfall
asleep.Oneday,aprettygirlnamedJanewhojustgotherjob
enteredtheoffice.Sincehisfirstsightofher,Johnnyfellinlove
withJane.Hewantedtopursueherbadly,butJanedidntwantto
accepthisadvances.Hewasthendeterminedtoworkhardjustto
beacceptedbyJane.Threemonthslater,Johnnyachievedhis
targetonhiswork,healsoprovedtoeveryonethathecandoit
eventhoughhismotivationcomesfromagirl.Lastbutnotleast,
JanerealisedthatJohnnyreallyworkedhardandachievedhis
targets.Finally,shebecamehisgirlfriendanditisahappy
ending.


Concepts&Definition:
1.Stereotyping
Stereotypingisaselfconfirmingbeliefthatonemaybe
evaluatedbasedonanegativestereotype.Italsoisathoughtthat
canbeadoptedaboutspecifictypesofindividualsorcertainways
ofdoingthings.

2.SocialLoafing
Socialloafingreferstotheconceptthatpeopleareproneto
exertlesseffortonataskiftheyareinagroupversuswhenthey
workalone.

3.SelfServingBias
Thetendencytoattributepositiveoutcomestoourinternalor
personalfactors,andnegativeoutcomestosituationalorexternal
factors,itisusefultofirstbecomefamiliarwithattributiontheory.

4.Motivation
Motivationisaninternalprocessthatmakesapersonmove
towardagoal.Motivation,likeintelligence,can'tbedirectly
observed.Instead,motivationcanonlybeinferredbynotinga
person'sbehavior.Researchershaveproposedtheoriesthattry
toexplainhumanmotivation.

5.ObservationalLearning
Observationallearninghasbeenapartofthehumanexperience
foralongtime,butitwasn'tuntilsomewhatrecentlythat
psychologistsbegantoexaminethisphenomenoncloselyinan
efforttounderstanditbetter.

EvaluationOfConcept:
1.Stereotyping
WhenJohnnyJaydenstartedhisjob,allhiscolleaguesgossiped
abouthim.Allofthemwouldsaythathedoesntknowhowtodo
anything,heisherejustbecauseofhisfather.

2.SocialLoafing
Duringmeetings,Johnnywouldalwaysfallasleepandhecould
notfocusevenwhensomeonewasaskinghimsomequestions.

3.SelfServingAttribution
WhenJohnnyfallsasleepduringmeetings,heneverfeltsorry.
Johnnywouldonlyblametheweatherformakinghimfallasleep.

4.Motivation
Aprettygirl,JanecameintoJohnnysfatherscompanyforajob.
Johnnypursuedherromantically,butJanewouldnotaccepthim
simplybecauseheisthesonoftheowner.ShewantedJohnnyto
increasedhissalesbytheendoftheyearbyworkinghard,then
shewillreconsiderhim.

5.ObservationalLearning
Toachievesthesales,Johnnystartedtolearnaboutbusiness
andmarketingskillsfromhisdad.3monthslater,Johnny
succeededinachievingthesalesandwonJaneheart.

Storyline:
Thisvideoisaboutacompanywhichspecialisesinpromoting
differentcollegesanduniversitiestohighschoolgraduates.One
day,thecompanyreceivedaprojecttotargettwodifferent
universitieswhichareTeylor'sUniversityandalsoSunweys
University.Theuniversitieswanttoattractnewstudentswhojust
finishedtheSPMexaminationstoenterahighereducationlevel
intheiruniversity.Thebossofthecompanyhasassignedthis
particularprojecttotwoleaders,YeenMunandAndersonto
selectoneoftheuniversitiesforfurthertargetachievements.Both
ofthemhavetoleadtheirownmemberstofollowupontheir
individualproject.Whoevermanagedtobringinthehighest
numberofstudentsintheselecteduniversitywillbepromotedto
manager.Bothofthegroupsstartedtheirstrategiestosucceedin
theproject.Whenevertheyseeeachotherbeingseriousintheir
ownindividualprojectwork,theywilltendtoworkharderthan
usual.Oneday,bothofthegroupswererestingatthebalcony.
AndersonthinksthatYeenMuncouldnotpossiblydoanything
betterthanhimjustbecauseYeenMunisagirl.Surprisingly,
YeenMuntoldAndersonnottolookdownonherjustbecause
sheisagirl,hercapabilitiesaremuchbetterthanhis.Inthat
moment,bothoftheirmembersfoughtfortheirleadersaswell.
Duringofficehours,Andersondiscussedtheirownprogresswith
hismembersandthedatashowsthattheyhadattractedless
studentsthanlastyear.Afterthat,bothofthemstillblametheir
luckbutbelievethatregardlessofwhatproblemstheyhadtoface
theywillstillbethewinneramongsttheothergroups.Onthefinal

day,whentheresultswerereleased,YeenMunandhergroup
hassuccessfullyachievedhertargetsbutAndersonandhis
grouparestilllackingofafewstudentsbeforeheachievehis
targets.ThebossofthecompanyfinallyannouncedthatYeen
Munwillbecomethemanagerfortheupcomingyears.Alloftheir
colleaguescameforwardtoYeenMunandpraisedYeenMun
andherteammatesfordoingagreatjob.Andersonandhisteam
matesarereallyupset.WhenYeenMunsassistantpraisedYeen
Mun,Andersonandhisassistantgotangry.Bothofthemleftthe
officeinafiercetantrum,buttheothersjustdonotcareabout
themanymore.

1.SocialFacilitation
Socialfacilitationistheideathatyouwilllikelydobetterona
simpletaskwhenotherpeoplearewatchingyou.However,you
wouldtendtodolesswelloncomplextaskswhereyouwere
beingwatchedorevaluated.

2.Sexism
Sexismisdiscriminationbasedongenderandpreferential
treatmentofonesexoveranother.Forexample,womenstill
makeonaveragelessmoneythanmen,andmanypeoplecite
thisasevidenceforsexismintheworkplace.

3.FritzHeider:BalanceTheory
BalanceTheoryisamotivationaltheoryofattitudechange,
proposedbyFritzHeider.Itconceptualizesthecognitive
consistencymotiveasadrivetowardpsychologicalbalance.The
consistencymotiveistheurgetomaintainone'svaluesand
beliefsovertime.Heiderproposedthat"sentiment"orliking
relationshipsarebalancediftheaffectvalenceinasystem
multipliesouttoapositiveresult.

4.CognitiveCapacity
Thementalactorprocessbywhichknowledgeisacquired,
includingperception,intuition,andreasoning.

5.Birging
Birgingmeansfeelingsuccessfulthroughthesuccessesofone's
circleandenhancingonesselfesteemjustbybeinginthegroup.

BecauseYeenMunhatedAnderson,hergroupmemberalso
