Introduction:
Did you know that children alone cause 10% of the worlds
pollution. Our world has a major problem that we need to fix. In this
article, I will show the solutions we can use to get rid of pollution and
an amazing teen activist that is doing something about pollution. I will
look at how others have helped to solve this and how you can join and
help out too. My evidence will show why it is important to eliminate
pollution.

How we can Fix pollution and climate change

Pollution
is chemicals in the earth's natural environment.
Climate Change
is a change in global or regional patterns. They both
can cause bad situations like, pollution can hurt or kill plants and
animals. Climate Change can rise temperatures. We can fix these
problems in many ways. You can use renewable energy (clean energy)
because it doesnt cause harm to the environment. Also, you can
eliminate the burning of coal, oil, and eventually natural gases. If these
substitutions happen, our planet will be a much better and cleaner
place to us and other living things.

The Effects of Climate Change & Pollution

The effects of Climate change and pollution are significant
because they both can cause many bad situations on our planet.
Pollution can cause diseases
that could kill you. Also, it could
damage plants and hurt
animals. Climate change can
impact the current and future
generations and species.
Because of these outcomes, it is
important that we take care of
this problem because they will
hurt our planet by shortage of
resources and that will affect our
future.

CeCe Durden & Coal Ash Pollution

CeCe Durden was worried about the pollution ( or coal ash
contamination) in her hometown, Uniontown, Alabama. She wanted to
learn more about pollution so she
could do something about it. After she
learned more about it, she was
passionate to help her town from this
problem. Soon, she was talking to her
neighbors and other activists from her
town about pollution. They wanted to
help solve this. After, Adam Johnston,
the coordinator of Alabama
Rivers alliance, was a fan of CeCe
and wanted to help. Adam said,
Environmental Agencies are doing
little to nothing to enforce safety regulations on landfill (a place to
owners and the wastewater facility. Eventually , CeCe and Black Belt

Citizens fighting for health and justice went to an Environmental

lawyer to discuss the coal ash pollution problem. Over the summer,
her and her friends engaged in summer training to make a website to
raise awareness for pollution. CeCe is looking for young people to
support with her.

CeCe Durden & Youth Activists of Washington DC

Another group of young people helping the environment is called
Our Generation, Our Choice from Washington, D.C. CeCe Durden
and youth activists of Washington DC are similar in several ways. They
both wanted to help their communities because of environmental
issues. They also took action in the problems that each community
faced like pollution and climate change. They also differ in several
ways. One difference is that CeCe Durden was concerned about the
pollution in her town and wanted to do something about it. She
started talking about it to her neighbors and fixed the problem by
herself. Youth activists in Washington DC wanted to help the climate
change around the world. They did it with many people. Another
difference is CeCe actually solved her towns problem by raising
awareness. She made a website to stop pollution. The Youth Activists
demanded the government to do something.

Why Pollution is Such a Big Problem

Pollution is problem to our planet because it can cause plants
and animals to die and hurt our environments. Therefore, we can do
something about so when our future generations won't have to suffer
through shortage of resources and the the environment will be
destroyed. CeCe wanted to help out and make sure that pollution will
be gone before the newest generations. As a result, she made a
website to raise awareness for this problem.

Conclusion:

Learning about pollution has definitely changed my point of view of

how to use energy. I can use renewable energy instead of coal ash and
oil. After all pollution can hurt many animals, plants, and even humans.
Our government has not taken the right action and sometimes no
action on these issues that are so important to all of our lives, (Erin
Bridges) Do you really want to hurt others because of something that
we could fix easily?
