SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT

FEBRUARY IS HEART HEALTH MONTH An important time to rededicate ourselves to fighting this prevalent
health issue. Heart disease is especially deadly among African Americans who tend to get heart disease at a younger
age, have a higher rate of first-time heart attack at all ages, are more likely to die of heart disease, and are more
prone to sudden cardiac death. Choose heart smart foods, emphasizing vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low
fat dairy. Learn your heart disease risk factors, from your primary care physician, and do your best to lower them;
including keeping your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar under control.

Thank you to all who have responded to the letter from Archbishop Gregory. There is still
time to respond. If you received the mailing and have not responded, please take advantage of this time to do so. Your financial support for the work of our parish, our Archdiocese and our Church throughout the world is, in fact, one way to give Him glory and
express our gratitude. Lourdes 2016 goal is $94,300. Thanks to your generosity we

CRS RICE BOWL CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING THEME IS OPTION
FOR THE POOR Catholic social teaching inspires and guides how we are to
live and work in the world. In this principle Option for the Poor, Jesus tells us
to care for those who are most in need. He reminds us of our Christian duty to
give a voice to those who are unheard and to help those who are most vulnerable. Dont forget to pick up a Rice Bowl during this Lent season..
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY is seeking volunteers to help with repast during the
weekdays and weekend. If you are available to volunteer, please contact the
Lourdes Office 404-522-6776 to add your name to the list.
