Date of Visit: February 05, 2016
It was . It was Friday, when I visited the school, after I observed inside the room of grade

nine students, as I walk around to look for some bulletin boards to observe and criticize
upon. I see a bulletin board display along the stairs of the building, it was all about giving
some information about the schools upcoming event for the month of February. It was
good for us, because it maintains the awareness of students. From then, I started
scrutinizing the display. It was indeed attractive and appealing. I observed every detail of
the work that will eventually be part of this field study report

From among the board displays that you saw, pick the one that you got
most interested in. Evaluate it using the evaluation form below.

Your Analysis
Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its
target audience? Why? or Why not
Maybe, yes! Because its all about awareness, students may engage
on the upcoming event, the students will be given an opportunity to showcase
their talent. And also, based on my observation people used get enticed with
things concerning and related to students interest.
Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience
to understand? Why? or Why not?

In general, yes. The language being used is clear and simple. It does
not contain any catchy phrases or words with vague meanings. Aside from that,
since graphic images were used to support the contents, viewers will be able to
understand it more clearly and well.

What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it
effective? Why? or Why not?
To give information, and to be aware. The board display succeeded
in conveying the important points of the message. It made me pause for a
moment and found myself reflecting about my own interest.
What suggestions can you make?
Just the same, with the recommendation I stated above, the
designers of the board display should take into consideration. The style and
approach as well as the arrangement and set up of the contents of the board
display they will be making.
Based on your suggestions, purposed an enhanced version of the
display board. Use the form below.

Your Reflections
1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come
up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is
needed.
Communication skill- the teacher should have this skill for him/her
to convey the important points of the display.
Analytic skill- it is very important especially when creating a board
display that is set to impart a message to viewers. Before it ismade,
deliberate planning and organizing is needed to assure that the
objectives in setting up the display are met.
Computer skill- the teacher should have the skill for him/ her to be
more updated with the latest topics relevant to what he/she is
making.

Artistic skill- the teacher must possess this skill for him/her to
create stunning and aesthetic piece of art which will entice every
viewers attentions.
2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past
experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these
skills?
The Artistic skill. When I was on high school, my teacher asks me
to design and make a bulletin board display based on the themes that are
being given by him. It gave me the challenge to think about a certain
concept and style relevant to the topic. In addition, I used to create
different attractive design to catch the attention of the viewers.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can
improve on or acquire these skills.
For me, I still have to continue developing and improving some skills that I
have already. Learning is a continuous process. As long as I live, I am still
willing to know and learn more about the things around me. If theres any
opportunity that might come along the way, I will take and grab it the same
as I did before.
