    InthisprojectIwillinvestigatehowmusicinfluencesandreflectssocialchangefrom
    CivilRightsMovementstothetheproblemsfacingoursocietytoday.Musicisan
    emotionalandpowerfulformofartthatcanspeaktoitsaudience,teaching,inspiring,
    andrealizing.Althoughsomemusicisaboutenjoyablereflectionorwishfulthinking,
    mostmusichastodowiththeproblemsintheartistslifeorinthosewhosurround
    them.Theinjusticesspokenaboutcanbetruestoriesoraconcoctionoftheimagination
    butnomatterwhethertheyaretrueornot,positiveornegative,itisinfluencing
    someone.

    Ichosethiseventbecauseofmyinterestinmusichistoryandmypersonalexperience
    withmusic.Ihavealwayswonderedhowmusicaffectsthemindandhowcertainnotes,
    beats,andlyricsbringoutemotionintheaudience.
