Observation task 5

Focus: On the learner.


The first week you will observe a lower level learner. The
second week you will observe a higher level learner.
Objective: For student teachers to gain an initial understanding of how
learners are different.

For this observation, you will begin by


observing the class for 1 hour.
1. What do you notice? Does the class have any strengths or weaknesses?
The class have weaknesses and some of them have strengths. (weaknesses they
cant write some of them they cant circle the same letter they have asked to
circle). (strengths they can write; circle they can do three activities in one class).

2. Are there learners who finish activities quickly? What do they do


when they have finished? They do another different type of
activities.

3. Are there learners who do not finish a task(s)? How does the
teacher deal with them? Yes, there is students who doesnt finish in
the class, she finishes with them or she sends a letter to the parents
give interest to your children to finish their tasks.
4. Are there any learners with special needs? How does the teacher
meet their needs?
Some people cant write like they cant hold the pencil good she will be giving them
another type of activities to do.

5. How does the teacher manage learners with different


levels/abilities?
The teacher will be giving them different tasks and it depends in
their knowledge so in that way teacher can manage learners with
different abilities and levels.

lower level learner

movements in the table below.

He disturbs other students and distracts the class.

Play with other students.
5. What did the learners attention span / interest during activities
seem like?
If the activities are boring, he gets bored and the student distract
his friends if he liked the activity he will make it. Ex. Of orally
activities like the teacher shows the student a picture tells me
whats is this.
6. What did the learner seem to like doing the most / least during
the day?
Play like to learn in oral ways.
