Dear Steven:
Congratulations! Based on your exemplary academic achievements, I'm pleased to offer you a Colorado
State University Colorado Merit Scholarship. As a recipient of this award, you are eligible to receive a
maximum of $4,000 over four years, toward your Colorado State education,
This $1,000 annual award recognizes both your accomplishments in high school and your potential to
excel at our University. The bottom line is simple: We want you to come to Colorado State
University (CSU), and we believe this isthe right school for someone with your ability and motivation
We know you're receiving a lot of interest (and inal) from various campuses right now — and when you're
ooking at a small mountain of slick brochures, it can be hard to tell one school from another. But trust me,
Colorado State is different. Some of what sets us apart is obvious: CSU is a top-ranked U.S. research
university, which means our professors do the research that others only write about. We lead the world in
‘academic areas ranging from veterinary medicine to global business. Our students and faculty are actively
involved in learning and investigation on every single continent, as well as in space. We outscore every
‘campus in the country when it comes to sustainability and environmental responsibility. These things are
‘easy to measure, and we stack up really, really well when you look at those metrics.
But some of what makes CSU different is less tangible. You feel it when you walk around our campus and
random people stop to offer you directions. We hear it from employers, who say CSU interns and graduates
jjust seem to work harder, ask smarter questions, and perform better than a lot of their peers. We hear it from.
‘our alumni ~ 91 percent of whom say they would choose CSU again. This campus attracts people who are
smart and capable, who want to rollup their sleeves, get involved, and make a difference — people like you.
Colorado State University offers an outstanding educational experience at a competitive cost, and we want
you to be a Ram. So, please take some time to read the accompanying page, explaining the terms and
Conditions of your award (this information is also on the Financial Aid “Awards” page of your RAMweb).
If you have questions, please contact a Student Financial Services counselor at (970) 491-6321.
Best wishes as you finish your senior year ~ and we hope to see you on campus as a member of the
CSU community next fall. Go Rams!
Sincerely,
Un, A ark
