This website was an interview with Dr. Birute Galdikas. It helped because it
showed me what her opinions were on certain things. It asked her
questions on her life and questions on why she chose to live in the forest
with the orangutans.

This website has a lot of information on Birute Galdikas's achievements. It
talks about what books she has written and what magazines she has been
in. For example, in the passage, it says she has written the books,
"Reflections of Eden", "A Guidebook to Tanjung Puting National Park:
Kalimantan Tengah (Central Borneo), Indonesia", "Great Ape Odyssey", and
"Orangutan Odyssey." It also talks about what she has seen during her
research in the forest. It also talks about her family. This website is very
useful.

<http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tadzio-mac-gregor/birute-galdikas-iforangu_b_6055924.html>. This is an interview with Birute Galdikas. This
website is mostly about her opinions of palm oil and what it is doing to the
forest of Borneo. The author asks questions such as, "What has changed in
Borneo since you first arrived?" and "What would you tell the western
consumer who unconsciously buys products containing palm oil?" These
questions are very much related to why Birute Galdikas thinks that humans
should not use palm oil. This website helps me understand her opinions
about what people are doing to the forests of Borneo.

understand her adventures in the forest with the primates and her advice
to beginners who would like to dedicate their lives to conservation.

helpful for me to understand how, from Dr. Galdikas's words, she first met
the famed paleontologist Dr. Leakey, and how that meeting allowed Dr.
Birute to flourish in her research.

<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWF_DPRbLqQ>. This video allowed
me to understand Dr. Birute's deep dedication to the orangutans, living
with them in the Indonesian forest for decades. It also brought me to the
sad understanding of how quickly our Earth is losing the forest due to
human acts such as deforestation and the effects these have on the animal
life.

<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHb4JzDczkc>. This video had some
light-hearted content, allowing me to see a different side to Dr. Galdikas,
such as her early fascination with Curious George. It helped me to
understand her nearly undeniable need to study orangutans. The video
primarily helped me to understand how close the world is to losing
orangutans to extinction and the cause being the financial incentives in
their habitats. This feeling of this interview was quite emotional.
