Aim: A warmer to help learn names and a little bit about each other, and a fun activity to help break the ice.
Procedure: Keep instructions as simple as possible and do a physical demonstration so that
the teachers can follow. Stage 1 a) Take a piece of paper (ideally A4) and fold it into four. b) In the top left-hand square write your name, the bigger and more beautiful the better. c) Flip the paper over so your name is now on the other side, bottom right-hand corner, and in the new top left square write three sentences about yourself, 2 true sentences, and 1 a lie (in any order). d) Fold the paper up. Make sure the sentences are on the outside and your name is hidden. e) Ask teachers to put the papers in a hat. All teachers and the trainer take one each. Stage 2 a) The trainer can start. Read the sentences that you have aloud. b) The reader tries to guess who this belongs to and which sentence is false. The guesser then gives that piece of paper to the author. That author then refolds the paper so his/her name is on the outside, and puts it on their desk so everyone can learn their name! c) That person then reads out their sentences until all sentences have been read aloud and all teachers now have a name badge on their desks.
