10 THINGS

LEARN
TO

Paul Driftmier

In Federalist 51, Madison explained the essential balance between the civil society and
governmental restraint: But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections of
human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to
govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In
framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in
this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige
it to control itself.!

!
This quote from the book outlines very well the difficulties in creating a governing body to
rule over a people. It does so by pointing out that a government is nothing more than a group of
the very people it aims to control!

The book is divided into ten main chapters, each addressing a different problem in modern
government. They are Plunder and Deceit; On the Debt; On Social Security; On Medicare and
Obamacare; On Immigration; On the Environment; On the Minimum Wage; On National
Security; and On the Constitution. Here are a some key facts from each of them:!

1. The people of today's ruling class are making decisions that push today's problems to the
generation of tomorrow. Trillions of dollars in nation debt and hundreds of thousands-word long
legislations that move us closer and closer to bankruptcy in the future, pushing these problems
to a purely imagined and never-coming future generation.!

2. The national debt has gone up from $10.6 trillion dollars the day Barack Obama was elected
to more than $18.125 trillion as of April 2015. Every American citizen's share of the debt is over
$56,900 .!

3. The number of workers for ever beneficiary in the social security system has dropped from
159 in 1940 to less than 3 since 2010, expected to be about 2.2 in 2030. !

4. In, 2014, the treasurers overseeing Medicare declared the Hospital Insurance Trust Fund
will run dry by 2030.!

5. In the fiscal year 2012, the Census Bureau reported that federal, state and local
governments cumulatively spent more than $10,608 per student per year, on public education.!

6. Between the years of 1961 and 1970, about 3.3 million people immigrated into the United
States, with periods of immigration, followed by periods of integration and assimilation. Between
2000 and 2014, there was a constant flow of more than 14 million permanent legal immigrants,
in addition to the surge of millions of illegal immigrants.!

7. On January 17, 2008, Obama said publicly "You know, when I was asked earlier about the
issue of coal ... under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would skyrocket..."
The recent environmental movement called "de-growth" wants to make it very expensive to
produce and consume electricity to force people into the low-energy green movement.!

8. The government lies about the unemployment rate in America by masking it behind
something called the Labor Force Participation Rate. Only people actively looking for jobs are
classified as unemployed, while anybody not looking for work at all for whatever reason are not
counted at all. The "Unemployment Rate" may have been 5.5%, but the actual Labor Force
Participation Rate - the number of people currently working - of the same month and year was
only 62.7%.!

9. China has embarked on a vigorous military and economic program to spread its influence
regionally and world-wide, investing tens of billions of dollars in nation-building efforts in Central
and South America, designed to increase their influence and decrease the US's globally.!

10. Between 2005 and 2014, exactly 36,877 new individual regulations, spread over 768,920
pages were imposed by the executive branch, with virtually no oversight by congress or input
from the public. !

The government of the United States is becoming more and more corrupt, and appears to be
spiraling out of control, with a nearby collapse predicted. This book is a wake up call for
America, and is proudly touted by conservatives across the nation.
