quite wrong with such symptoms as burning smell, strange sound, etc.
Take Ground.
Unless it is done, it may cause an electrical shock when
breakdown and electrical power leaking occur.
CAUTION
Do not use thinner or benzene as it may cause change of
color or shape for external stains of the unit, wipe with
soft cloth or cloth slightly wet. For heavy stains, wipe with
diluted detergent solution or with alcohol.
Do not put foreign matters such as bolts or coins inside
the unit. It may cause breakdown.
Use and operate the unit in accordance with enclosed

Handle switch keys of the Touch Panel with hand care.
Rough handling keys and handling them with a tip of sensor driver or ball
For operation of switches and keys, do it one by one Doing two or more
switches at the same time may cause
breakdown or damage.
2.Pilot light
While this light is on, power of the unit
is on, even when LCD back light is off.
3.On/Off switch
When the main switch on the back is
in ON position, press the button to
turn the power to the unit.
Shutting off the unit can be
normally done by touch panel.
However, in case of emergency,
this switch also shuts off the unit,
however, cleaning is not to be done.
The switch starts suction of sample for measurement. The switch works only when suction of
sample is so requested and possible.
7.Printer cover
The cover is to be opened for changing print paper.
8.Paper cutter
This cutter is for print paper use. Paper can be cut by pressing the paper downward or
upward.
9.PRINT/FEED switch
PRINT: When LCD panel displays measured values, press the switch button to print out the
data. Every time the button is pressed, the printer prints out.
FEED: While the button is pressed, print paper keeps coming out.
10.LCD Angle Adjustment
This knob is for adjusting LCD angle in the range of +5 -5.

6-1-5 MOVEMENT ADJUST
Just after making operation by using these menus,
there may be change in volume of diluent solution
inside the measurement cell or in volume of solution
on the tip of sample nozzle. Therefore, make sure
either to take blank measurement or to operate water
supply before starting sample measurement.

7 MAINTENANCE
7-1Maintenance for long time storage
CAUTION
Instrument may be badly damaged if you store it for long period
without disconnecting reagents.
If you keep PCE-210 inoperated for long time, remaining diluent solution may
crystallize or contaminate in internal parts of the instrument and could be a cause
of clogging. To avoid any defect in the device, please refer to 5-3-4 Long time
storage in Operation Manual and refill distilled water to clean the liquid circuit..
Make sure to drain completely after it.
7-2Change of parts
CAUTION
Replace or clean roller pump tube once per 6 months or 3000
measurement, whichever comes first.
Make sure to use roller pump tube supplied by manufacturer .

9-2 Note for using external printer
The first printing right after connecting an external printer to PCE-210, some characters may be
missing or unnecessary characters may be printed on printing contents in the test printing or at
the end of measurement. To avoid the situation, please follow the undermentioned:
1. Make sure that the printers power is off when you connect a printer cable.
2. Make sure that you turn on PCE-210s power first, then the printers power, at any time.
3. When you turn off the power, be sure that you turn off the printer, then PCE-210.
4. DO NOT turn on and off the power of PCE-210 while the printers power is ON.
5. Please also set a printer paper in the internal printer.
6. In case printer errors (running out of paper, opening the cover, etc.) happen, you can not
do the recovery operation by PCE-210, unlike the case you connect PCE-210 to PC.

9-6 Measurement Control for Pressure Volumetric Method
Fixed volume measurement by pressure control
A negative pressure pump of PCE-210 makes aspiration pressure to the fixed value of
150mmHg just before aspirating diluted sample. This fixed pressure is kept and controlled all
the time through measurement operation by pressure sensor. Under the circumstance of the
150mmHg pressure, a valve for sample aspiration is opened for the measurement. The
74
aspiration time is set in advance as a factory adjustment and never varies in each individual
measurement. Therefore, volume of the diluted sample can be fixed same for each
measurement due to the aspiration made under condition of fixed pressure for the fixed time.
In case there is variation seen in pressure during measurement, PCE-210 detects its
abnormality in aspiration flow and stops measurement.
