than two pages, on the
importance of wildlife
to North Carolina.
Students may choose to
focus on a particular
animal or ecosystem,
and creativity is
encouraged!

All submissions must be postmarked (mail) or timestamped (online) by Earth


Day, April 22 and sent to Cynthia Rosenfeld, 103 Timberlyne Ct., Chapel Hill,
NC 27514 or cynthia.porter86@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name, grade,
teachers name, the name of the school, and signed parental permission.

First prize receives a bat house for the school, copy of Wild Neighbors for the
schools library, a seed packet, and a My Humane Backyard sign to display at
the school. The students submission will be featured on HSUS-NCs Facebook
page. The school may also elect to have a My Humane Backyard presentation.

Second and third place winners schools will also receive prizes. All students
who enter will receive an issue of Kind News.
