– Tenders for various enabling works packages
to be initiated in May
– Tender for Marlborough Street bridge to be
initiated in June 2010
– Best and Final Offer process to formally start
in September 2010 (subject to Rail Order)
– Preferred bidder by summer 2011
– Financial close end 2011

– Railway Order to be submitted in July 2010
– Tender notice in OJEU in June 2010
• Dunboyne Rail
– To open in October 2010

• City Centre re-signalling


– Phase 1 Malahide to Killester completed by
end 2010
Quick Projects Update

• Public Transport Support Measures (projects,


designs, and strategic plans)
– Funding for 45 projects in 2010 for ongoing and
newly initiated projects
– Approx €30m allocated

Quick Projects Update

• Real Time Passenger information – approx. €11m funding

– Dublin City Council as delivery agent of core project


• Contract awarded to Data Display/ACIS

– Dublin Bus installing Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) Systems on its fleet
throughout 2010
• AVL is a pre-requisite for Real time Information (but also allows Dublin Bus
to better manage its fleet from a new central control hub at Broadstone)

– Roll-out of Information Systems on corridors starting Autumn 2010 as AVL is


available on the particular routes

– Bus Eireann have AVL installed


• Just need to resolve interface module

– Private Operators to follow into Information System


• Need AVL, trip arrival estimation module & to be able to speak to ACIS
system
• Engagement ongoing with NTA on how to deliver
