Summary of Characterization/Personification program: ________ I started out
being planted by a scary big machine that panted rows of us at a time. Then they
left us there for 60 years or so and then the humans come back and take 1 out of 10
of us or they take a row of us and leave 2 rows in between the rows they take. They
mostly take the pulps and some of the elders which they call us saw logs. And then
they haul them away to a foreign land when we never see our brothers and sisters
again. _________

a. I started out being planted by a scary big machine that panted rows of

I like swaying in the wind because it is relaxing

I gained my knowledge though growing up and learning from the elders
when I was younger.

a. Green forest service pants green shirt with red pine needles on me. Also
I will have branches for hands.

a. I carried branches

a. I made oxygen

a. I tens of thousands of acers of brothers and sisters their ages vary
mostly from 9 to 79.

a. I didnt need to be married to have children

a. I forgot all of their names because I had so many children aging from 0
to 50 years old

a. I was in good health until I got cut down and sold for money.

a. I get to help all of the humans because they have to use paper and build

a. Clothing and props needed
a. Ill need red pine branches, possible an old man mask or a forest service
hat. Ill wear green pants and a green shirt with branches that I have as
hands.

a. N/A
c. Sounds and smells/odors for character and setting
a. Smell like pine and the sounds of nature
d. What story will you tell?
a. Ill tell that how I got where I did and what I am there for. Also Ill talk
about how I help all the humans by supplying them with pulp wood and
saw logs.

a. Ill be in character in the wood and Ill have the audience meet me on
the path and I will awake as a tree.

a. I will finally get cut down and when I fall over to end it.
6. Involvement a. I can have one of my of the audiences members cut me down at the end
of my talk

a. I want to have better flow when I talk during my interpretive talk.
b. Eighty percent of the audience will be able to know how it is to live on a tree
plantation.
