Unit Summary:

In this unit, the students will first trace back the history and origin of music from the
Greeks to the classical European composers and on how they were able to create
compositions and come up with the musical staff that we use today. The students will be able
to identify the different elements of music and read notes and rests according to the given
time signature, measure, tempo and pitch. With these topics, the students will be able to
understand and give the importance of studying music theory. Student learning is maximized
here because the students will be using a software called Musecore a software where the
students can create musical compositions with the aid of computer technology.
