Benito Mussolini
Can you imagine a bully becoming the prime minister, a great leader of Italy?
Well, Benito Mussolini was one such man, who did stood strong for his country,
leading it into the Second World War, with an alliance with the Nazis and the
Japanese. He was the leader of Fascism in Italy, which was something new that rose
in the country. He made many promises to the country, and became the leader that
took action to do something great for the country. Whether or not his actions were
great, Mussolini was still an important person for the people of Italy.
Early Life
Mussolini was born on July 29, 1883, in north-central Italy, as Benito Amilcare
Andrea Mussolini. His father, Alessandro, was a blacksmith and a follower of
socialism, while his mother, Rosa, was a Catholic schoolteacher. He was the eldest
amongst the children. Mussolini was a bright, but spoilt child. He was always
showing arrogance and disobedience. Since he was young, he wanted to pursue
something in his passion for politics. Being the way he is, Mussolini was expelled
from many of his schools because he started bullying the other children and
disrespected the rules of the schools. Later on, he received a teaching certificate and
took on a job as a schoolmaster for sometime. Despite working as a schoolmaster,
Mussolini also worked on newspapers, and was a part of World War 1 as well.
Pursuing his dream, Mussolini was also a part of politics in Italy.
Achievements and Contributions
Like his father, Mussolini became a part of the Socialist Party in 1900, where
he gave speeches and wrote articles. He was at some point the editor and labor
leader, but eventually became a part Socialist Party Congress. With his skills in the
newspaper and his powerful writing, he was able to accomplish a great amount of
success for the party in terms of the voice he projected to the people.
During the early years of the 20th century, World War 1 broke out, and
Mussolini knew things would change. He moved out from the Socialist party and
founded his own newspaper, Popolo dItalia. For his own benefit, he moved from
being with the working class to the middle class. They soon became known as the
Revolutionary Fascists, who became his main strength. With this backup he had, he
was able to go strong during World War 2, where he leaded the people against their

enemies, along with the help of their alliances with the Nazis. Interestingly, Mussolini
was admired by Adolf Hitler, who like him, lead the Nazis into World War 2.
His achievements brought him to become the 40 th prime minister of Italy,
where he brought changes to the country as economic problems had to be solved.
They parted ways with their old ways of government, and he eventually spoke out his
voice to the rest of the people. However, eventually, he declined in power. The
people overthrew him, because of the lack of his power. He died on April 28, 1945.
Conclusion
Benito Mussolini was a man who promised many things to the country. He
definitely brought about changes that made the Italians go through new things they
have never experienced in their country. Because of the things he did to avoid all
problems, Mussolini was someone of great power. However, things did not turn
toward his luck for long. He took the Italians into corruption, invasion, and so much
misery, that he was eventually overthrown for his decisions. Despite all he had done,
he is still considered to be someone so great.
