Lesson Title: school and hvac shop rules and regulations


Lesson Number: 1
Unit: BASIC SAFETY

Objectives/Description:
Students will learn the safety issues involved in Heating, Ventilation, and Air
Conditioning. Students will focus on safety concerns on the job site. They will
become knowledgeable about protecting themselves from hazards of the job. OSHA
regulations will be a center of all instruction.
Tasks/Learning Activities:
PA200 - BASIC SAFETY
STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A STUDENT HANDBOOK TO REVIEW AND UNDERSTAND
ITS RULES AND REGULATIONS.
STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A COPY OF THE HVAC RULES TO REVIEW AND
UNDERSTAND ITS RULES AND REGULATIONS,

- STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A QUIZ ON SCHOOL AND SHOP RULES.
- STUDENTS MUST OBTAIN 100% ON QUIZES.

Lesson Preparation:

Prepare copies of student handouts.


Prepare copies of hvac shop rules.
Safety:
Handouts will identify the basic safety expectations for the classroom and the lab.
Included in all activities will be:
Students must wear safety glasses in all lab experiences.
Students must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment.
Students are expected to keep floor area free of oil.
Students are required to monitor heat/temperature at all times in order to avoid
burns.
