Montage
Description
Portrait montage, of the Salt Lake City Temple with two a
blended images of a young man on a cell phone and the Savior
casting out Satan. In the top right corner there is a quote by
Sister Linda S. Reeves.

Objectives
Use the FOCUS design process with strong focal point and
ow. Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant
spiritual message. Learn to blend two or more images together
gradually, using masks. Demonstrate more advanced Photoshop
skills for layout with multiple elements. Use a mask to apply a
lter to one part of the image.

Process
I used Photoshop to mask 3 images and used quick selection to
copy, then resize an silhouette image to place and mask on a cell
phone.

Objectives
Create three completely different, original logos to t a
company or personal image that will appeal to the audience.
Market research: gather opinions from at least ten people about
which logo appeals most to them. Use only the Illustrator tools
to create and draw your logos.

Process
I was able to come up with an original design using Illustrator.
After sketching out 3 ideas on paper, I created them using the
pen in Illustrator. I then asked family and classmates to vote
on their favorite. I also realized I needed to read the directions,
instead of assuming I know what I am suppose to do. After
reading the project directions, I chose one logo, then created a
gray scale and white font with black background.

Objectives
Create a new logo to t a company or personal image. Use
the new logo to design consistent layouts for a letterhead.
Letterhead should be 8.5 x 11.

Process
I rst created the logo in Adobe Illustrator using green circles
with a light green stroke. Once the logo was created, I started
a new InDesign project and placed the logo in my InDesign
stationary project folder. I placed the logo in the top-left corner
of the stationary with a green bar and white text in the footer. I
I also used a green bar with white text for the name and title.

Objectives
Create a new logo to t a company or personal image. Business
card trim only .125. Business card should be 3.5 x 2 and printed
above center on a vertical page.

Process
I researched various business card designs and then data logos.
With what I found I was able to create a design using the
project instructions. I rst created the logo in Adobe Illustrator
using green circles with a light green stroke. I then decided to
use images from the internet for the business card location icon,
phone icon, and web icon. I also used a green bar with white
text for the name and title.

Brochure
Description
An offset two-sided colorful brochure with images and original
logo.

Objectives
Set up and align a two-sided, folded document. Create an
original, new logo and use it in a brochure. Incorporate quality
images. Incorporate at least four quality images, not including
the logo. One should be clipped in Photoshop and textwrapped in InDesign so the text follows the cutout shape of the
image.

Process
First, I created the logo in Adobe Illustrator. Next, I found the
images to use. Third, I created the brochure in Adobe InDesign.
I rst traced a shield on one side, then mirrored it to create the
other side. I copied the shield and made it smaller. Finally, I
added the various gray colors for contrast and text in the shield.

Flier
Description
This is a 8.5 x 11 black and white ier for a leadership
conference.

Process
Used Adobe InDesign and recently learned design technics. I
formulated a plan with sketches, I organized in the software,
used contrast, unied, and simplied. I also, used message
and audience appeal, white space, grouping, alignment, ow,
contrast, typography, and repetition.

Objectives
Comprehend image sizing (how pixels and inches work
together). Find, scan and import a high-quality image.
Create a full-bleed design. Choose a color scheme and
typeface(s) that work for your message and audience.
Learn to use only Word design features without using any
Adobe programs, including Photoshop.

Process
As assigned I used a local print shop for scanning, MS Word
for the design, and typography, contrast, and alignment for the
skills. I also formulated a plan, sketched it out, organized the
ideas, unied the parts, and simplied the project.

Web Page
Description
Using HTML and CSS, created one web page to showcase
a ctional audiology logo.

Objectives
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and a working
knowledge of CSS. Identify hex colors to match logo, using
Photoshop color picker. Open the HTML page in a web
browser and capture a quality screen shot with .5 inch margins
for printing.

Process
I created the web page above using Notepad++. I also used
Adobe Illustrator to create the logo. Through this process I was
able to improve my design skills coupled with my HTML and
CSS skills. I validated the code and xed a couple tags

imaging
Description
Full bleed, 8.5 x 11 design of a dog next to a replace
with magenta colored owers in a woven basket using the
complementary color scheme of green and red.

Objectives
Learn basic photography skills. Choose a color scheme, take a
photo to match those colors, then incorporate the colors into
the layout. Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then
download it. Adjust image levels, saturation, color balance,
sharpen tool on separate layers for NDE (non-destructive
editing.) Size and crop the image, then place on an 8.511 page
layout. Use layers and repeating graphic elements in Photoshop.

Process
Photoshop, Camera, Photo Editing, Planned color scheme,
organized the photo and design layout, unied with repeating
elements and contrast.
