Introduction
- Review last lesson on spelling their name
- Write name on doodle buddy app to refresh the childs memory of
spelling their name
- Discuss that this lesson is writing and identify the individual letters in
names
- Sort students into 3 groups
Main Activities (15 Minute rotations_
- Gel letter writing (ICT - taking photos later to be added to book
creator). A giant ziplock bag will be filled with gel and then placed on
top of a students nametag. The students are to then trace their name
through the gel following the outline of the letters underneath. This is
preparing students to understand letter shapes before they begin writing
with a pencil. The photo take of the gel name will be added to the front
of their name book
- Name letter hunt/Name puzzles (Taking photos later to be added to
book creator) The students will write each letter of their name on a
puzzle piece and mix then all together and try put their name puzzle

back together the students will then take a photo of each letter which
will then be put onto book creator for the next activity.
Name book (Book creator app) Children will add each letter puzzle
piece to a separate page. The children are then to identify each letter
and search around the classroom/outside for something beginning with
that letter, they are then going to take a photo of that object and place it
next that letter in their name book.

Learner Diversity
The children can begin to look at their last name and identify the letters in
their last name (For gel writing and name hunt activities)
Conclusion
Get students to show their name books to the class
Ask questions (favorite activity, what did you learn?, What did you find
tricky?)
