Date: January 23rd, 2016

Course & Section: COMM 130-02

Instructor: Ben Pingel

Objectives: The objective was to get familiar with InDesign. It was

my first time using InDesign. I applied techniques taught

in class and used typography.
Process: We were given the pictures and logos to work with

but I created the layout. I sketched out a few ideas and

gained some inspiration from other ideas. I began with simple

shapes in InDesign then got a little more creative. Mostly

I used the shape tool then added the pictures and text

to the flier.

Objectives: How to set up a two sided brochure. I also learned

how to do a text wrap image, as well as how to use

paragraph styles in InDesign.
Process: I sketched out some designs for the brochure as well
as the logo. I first designed the logo in Illustrator. After
getting that done I started designing in InDesign. I tried
multiple times to get the pages set up like I wanted it to.
I then made a simple layout with shapes and filler text. I
found some photos that I liked and Photoshopped them
to fit the way I wanted them to. I wrote out the text that
went into the design. I place everything in the brochure
and tweaked everything around until I got what I liked.

card and letterhead. I designed a simple layout that would

work as a business card and also with a letterhead.
Process: I designed the letterhead to match the business card.
I wanted it to be simple. I started with a standard size
document and then copied the same feel from the business
card. I wanted to add and image in the back and took the
logo outline to do that.

Objectives: Created a logo to go with the companies business

card and letterhead. I designed a simple layout that would

work as a business card and also with a letterhead.
Process: I used Illustrator to design the logos for the business
card. Once I finished the logo I brought it into InDesign to
create the card. I started with the shape tool and created
the outlines for the card. I wrote all of the information to see
where the words would fit the best. I added a few elements
as well as the logo until I got a simple design that worked
the way I wanted it to.

Matthew 14:30-31

wherefore didst thou doubt?

his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O

thou of little faith,

And

immediately

Lord, save me.

Process: I brainstormed some ideas on what message I wanted to

do. I found two photos from Google and learned how to mask
photos to blend them together. I then added some text to
really get the meaning of the photo to stand out.
