Message From Presidente Dayton

He is Risen Rejoice All Ye Nations!

As I partook of the Sacrament on this Easter Sunday, I felt an immense surge of love,
appreciation, tenderness, joy, and hope for the life of Jesus Christ. How our Savior must love
us to do what he did on that awful Friday. The pain, agony, suffering, despair, and loneliness
experienced by the Master as he suffered the immense and incomprehensible pain of
Gethsemane, the noxious and profound pain experienced by Him on Crucifixion Friday as
they whipped him and placed a crown of thorns on his head, and the final diabolical pain
experienced on the Cross are something we can wonder about but never truly understand.
Comprehending that the Son of God had power to call down a legion of angels to rescue
himbut did not do so makes me adore and worship Him even more. It is clear that His life
was not takenit was given freely, a supernal act of love unlike any manifestation of love in
the sad history of selfish mankind.
We know that he was crucified some time on Friday afternoon and died before the Jewish
Sabbath which was Saturday. On the dawn of the most significant Sunday in the history of the
world, Mary Magdalene and the other women went to the tomb with spices and ointments to
apply to His lifeless body. To their astonishment, upon arriving at the tomb, they saw a
celestial being arrayed in brilliant, spotless white. He didnt even wait for them to say
something but immediately informed them , Fear not ye, for I know that ye seek Jesus, which
was crucified. He is not here for he is risen, as he said. Come see the place where the Lord
lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead. Never, ever before
had that been said of someone---HE IS RISEN!! Death had ever been the great monster which
took beings captive never to return them to loving family again. However, the Son of Man
became the first fruits of them that sleptHE IS RISEN!! Up to this time in the worlds history, if a
man died, it was over, there was no hope, he was gone forever. But this time was different.
Through the miracle of His resurrection, death was conquered, man was free and Christ had
truly won the victoryHE IS RISEN!! On one crucial, critical, unforgettable weekend, the sting
of death was taken away and both physical and spiritual death were defeated decisively.

And so, 2016 years later we take the Sacrament and we remember that weekend with
tears in our eyes and with grateful hearts. As commissioned emissaries of Him who was risen,
we go forth and share the good news of the fateful event that changed all of us forever. We
suffer rejection, disappointment, frustration, fatigue, humiliation, inconvenience, and selfdenial because we love Him so much. We give up large pieces of our regular life and turn
them over to Him because of that love. We share the message with all men that HE IS RISEN
and because of that, we can be cleansed of our sin and live with our Father again. Life is
eternal because of Him. Life has meaning because of Him. Life is joyful because of Him.
Families can be together forever because of Him. James Talmage triumphantly declares,
Worshipfully and with great joy the apostles returned to Jerusalem, there to await the coming
of the Comforter. The Lords ascension was accomplished. It was as truly a literal departure
of a material Being as His resurrection had been an actual return of His spirit to His own
corporeal body, theretofore dead.
With the world abode and ye abides the glorious promise, that Jesus the Christ, the same
Being who ascended from Olivet in His immortalized body of flesh and bones, shall return,
descending from the heavens, in similarly material form and substance. May we all find joy in
the Resurrection of the Master and truly understand why, as missionaries, we do what we do
and preach what we preach is my prayer.

Message From Hermana Dayton

Loyalty vs Unfaithfulness

Loyalty is using difficult times to demonstrate our commitment to those we

serve. It is the bonding of individuals in a long term commitment of support and defense.
Every important relationship in life should be built on loyalty. Some of these would
include our relationship with friends, family, in marriage, with a church leader, a mission
president, a companion, etc. Our most important relationship should be with our Savior
and our Heavenly Father. We can demonstrate the character trait of loyalty to them as
we serve them with all of our heart, might, mind and strength.
There are many wonderful examples in the scriptures of those who were
loyal to each other. Jonathan and David made a covenant with each other. The
scriptures teach us that they had, "a oneness of spirit" (1 Samuel 18:1). Ruth's loyalty to
Naomi is one of history's most inspiring stories. Ruth told Naomi to return to her own
people following her husbands passing. Ruth's reply was, "Whither thou goest, I will go;
and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my
God" Ruth 1:16-17.

There are many in the scriptures who demonstrated loyalty to God. Nephi
says, "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded me." (1 Nephi 3:7).
Paul declares, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ" (Romans 1:16) In
Matthew 6:24 we read, "No man can serve two masters". The prophet Joseph Smith is
an excellent example of loyalty when he says "I had seen a vision...and I could not deny
it" Joseph Smith History 1:25.
We can apply loyalty in missionary work by:
--Serving others, speaking the positive of them, and strengthening them
--Encouraging your companion or family members during hard times, letting them know
you will be there for them

Message From Hermana Dayton

--Keeping the commandments thus showing our loyalty to our Father in Heaven
--Adhering to the counsel given by church leaders--bishops, stake president, President
Dayton, the prophet, etc.
--Adhering to the line of loyalty, "Your loyalty is first to the Lord, then to the Mission
President and then to your companion."
President Dayton and I love you very much. We feel grateful for your loyalty to the
Master as you diligently serve Him each day. With General Conference this weekend,
we will have the opportunity to learn from our church leaders. It is our prayer that we will
feel and hear the whisperings of the spirit and receive personal revelation as we faithfully
serve the Lord.

The Miracle of Baptism

We were blessed with baptism
this week! Honestly we did so
little, Amalia has been prepared
to take this step since the first
time we invited her. The branch
has been with her every step of
the way, they took care of
everything. It's been incredible
to see all of them reach out to
her during the past few weeks.
She's felt so comfortable with
everything because of them.

expressed to us how great she
