Observation

I chose to do an observation of the types of materials students used during a

lesson the teacher taught. Materials students used during the lesson were the book Goal,
their literature notebooks, pencil, paper t shirts that the teacher had already had cut out,
markers, glue, and colored pencils. The students sat on the carpet in front of the teacher
while she read the book Goal. After the teacher read the book she asked students to come
up with different character traits that fit the main character in the story, Johnny. Students
raised their hands and answered with many different character traits. The teacher sent the
students back to their desk where they got out their literature notebooks. The teacher told
the students to sketch a t-shirt that represents Johnny and his futbol team and after the
students got done sketching their t-shirts the teacher put them into groups where they got
to put all of their ideas together and design a big t-shirt to present to the whole class.
Students used pencils to draw the t-shirt first and then used markers, glue, and colored
pencils for their t-shirts. After students finished, they got to present to the whole class and
talk about what they drew and why they chose to do that.
