OFFICE OF THE FULTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY, Atlanta, GA

Director Victim-Witness Assistance Program, 2016 to Present

Performs duties related to managing a comprehensive Victim/Witness


Advocacy Program.

Oversees provision of service delivery and programming related to victims and


witnesses of crime in Fulton County Superior and Juvenile Court. Ensures
compliance with grant guidelines, develops and monitors adherence to program
policies and procedures and establishes goals and objectives. Assists in the
development and administration of program budget. Manages staff of 19
Advocates, 1 Administrative Assistant and 2 Social Work Interns, including
establishing workloads, prioritizing assignments and evaluating performance.
Oversees operation of MOC (Mobile Outreach Center). Participates on special task
forces including the Domestic Violence Legislative Committee and Sexual Assault
Response Team.

Key Achievements:

Implemented Homicide Survivor Support group for friends and family


members of murder victims in Fulton County within 1 month of tenure.
Organized 2016 National Victims Rights Week.
Hired and trained 7 new Advocates within first 3 months.
Enhanced advocate auditing report to ensure efficiency in victim-witness

OFFICE OF THE FULTON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY, Atlanta, GA

Victim-Witness Counselor, 2012 to 2015

Provided advocacy, supportive counseling and crisis intervention to victims of


child molestation, sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, armed robbery,
rape, stalking and other crimes occurring in Fulton County.

Accompanied victims and their families to scheduled court hearings and trials.
Acted as liaison between prosecutors and victims ensuring that victims voices
were heard. Educated victims and their families on the Crime Victims Bill of
Rights, Crime Victims Compensation Fund and the criminal justice
process. Assisted victims with impact statements. Helped victims gain access to
financial assistance, housing and other community resources. Vocalized
concerns regarding violations of victims rights and to the division supervisors
and the District Attorney.

Key Achievements:

Recipient of the Fulton County District Attorney Offices Rookie Advocate of

COBB COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD, Marietta, GA

Mental Health Therapist -Success for All Students, 2011 to 2012

Utilized counseling skills and therapeutic interventions to help dozens of Cobb


County students overcome barriers to academic success. Promoted ideals of

Success for All Students: a grant funded collaboration between the Cobb
County CSB and Cobb County School District.

Provided mental health assessments, crisis intervention, individual therapy


and group counseling for 2 middle schools and 1 high school within the Cobb
County School District. Consulted with parents, teachers and administrators
regarding academic, behavioral and emotional concerns. Worked
collaboratively with school staff, parents and community resources to help
students succeed, suggesting strategies to manage behavior and support
studentsemotional well-being. Counseled students regarding a wide range of
issues including bullying, anxiety, depression, anger management and family
conflict. Advocated for students with special needs. Provided input during IEP
and 504 meetings.

Key Achievements:

Co-led group on relational aggression among girls in order address bullying

Supervisors.

School Counseling Intern, 2009 to 2010

Provided individual and group counseling and classroom guidance to high


school students regarding academic achievement, personal/social/emotional
concerns, and career exploration, utilizing the ASCA National Model.

Assisted students with course selection, college searches, credit recovery and
graduation requirements. Consulted with parents and teachers regarding
children who were under-performing academically or exhibiting emotional
and/or behavioral concerns. Referred students to community resources when

Key Achievements:

Headed grief and loss support group for students affected by the 2010 Haiti
Earthquake. Mentored group of students, helping them establish a Haitian

Led agency whose mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse on


Georgia communities through education and advocacy. Provided general
oversight and budget management for 3 federally funded programs,
supervising Program Managers and administrative staff, and overseeing
contractors.

Led agency out of financial crisis after founder and director of 15 years
resigned.

Balanced budget, which allowed for cancellation of portion of organizations

Clinical Supervisor, 2006 to 2008

Directly supervised clinical programming of a federally funded youth


offender reentry program (Youth IMPACT).

Supervised 4 Care Managers, ensuring that


individualized care plans were executed in a timely manner, utilizing the
projects evidence-based framework (effective assessment, case management,
and treatment) Worked closely with the DJJ Project Director to ensure
compliance with grant guidelines and program goals. Provided oversight of

Offender Reentry Program, a grant funded collaboration between GCSA and the

treatment and wraparound services. Collaborated with Juvenile Probation and
Parole Specialists and substance abuse treatment providers on individual Youth
Care Plans which included educational, career, and treatment goals. Monitored
progress through monthly visits and team meetings. Advocated for youth
needing higher levels of care.

Developed community partnerships with agencies that provided treatment,


wraparound support, career, educational and mentoring opportunities for
youth, assisting in execution of MOUs.
