Effects

Since decades the natural extracts of liquorice root

are used as additives or active ingredients in food,
cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, due to their
highly interesting efficacies.
Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate obtained is the main
component of liquorice root. By addition of Potassium
hydroxide solution the Potassium salt is formed after
complete removal of water.

Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is stable for five years

when stored at room temperature in sealed containers in a dry and dark place.

good water solubility, temperature stability
easily to formulate
surface activity and therefore the self-emulsifiying
ability
in aqueous solution and in presence of mineral
acids it forms a gel below pH 4
