Procedure
1. Read the story Green Eggs and Ham (Reading)
2. Ask students if they would eat the Green Egg and Ham
3. Have you ever tried anything that you thought you didnt like and
then did?
4. Hand out Food for Thought worksheet
5. Ask students to draw a picture of the food or something that they
didnt think they liked but after trying it they did. Write it on the blank
(Writing and Art)
6. Now we are going to read the story: ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book!
(Reading)

7. Pass out ABC cards. Each student should get a different letter
8. Explain directions of the ABC songs (attached at bottom)
9. Teach finger play: Cat in the Hat (attached)

Make Dr, Suess Hat (Art)
a. Students a larger read hat
b. Have students cut strips out of white paper
c. Have students paste white strips on the hat
i. Making sure it the pattern goes red, white, red, white
d. Have students write numbers on each stripe (math)

1. Pass out ABC cards. One to each student
2. Have students say which letter that they have
3. Directions
When the song comes on I want you to raise your card above your
head for all students to see. So the first line is big A, little a. What begins
with A? the student with the A card will stand.
4. At the end of the song ask students what other items begin with their
letter. Can anyone else think of an item for that goes with another
students letter?

Procedure:
1. Sing song by yourself out loud so students can hear how it goes
2. Ask students to follow along
3. Now sing it and have students either snap fingers or clap their hand in
the right spot
4. Have students sing along with you now
5. Sing it again with stomping
6. Ask students to grab an instrument
7. Have them play the instrument during the snap parts now
