APS 6: Content Knowledge

Pictured Above: Three sets of classroom textbooks for each grade level
(6th-8th). The textbooks are utilized when we move on to new lessons
that require in depth learning of new art terms/vocabulary.

Pictured Above: The classroom library is full of books related to art for
students to pick up and read. There are many novels along with
non-fiction books featuring art history through the ages and famous
artists of different time periods.

Pictured Above: South Carolina Visual Arts Academic Standards. Every

lesson that is taught to the students follows the standards. At the start of
every lesson, students are notified of the standards that are going to
covered.
