HowhaveIdevelopedthiscompetencyduringthiscourseorprofessionalseminar/fieldexperience?

This
competency was acceptably developed using the book How to become a teacher, as it allowed me

to have an understanding of what my skills and competencies were and how to improve them. One

reading
in particular, Self-Knowledge, on page 29, discussed the importance of understanding yourself,
in order to better understand your students and their needs. This was very enlightening, since using the

readings
to guide me through my observations helped me start identifying my strengths and weaknesses

a student-teacher. Also, by having multiple group discussions during this course, I was able to explore
as

many
different subjects regarding teaching. Although we all want to be teachers, it was interesting to hear

the
many different perspectives and opinions on education. Furthermore, this course was very helpful, as

having
a journal to reflect and write down observations that I made of myself and others shaped the way I

saw
myself in the current role of student teacher, and in the future role of a teacher. Unfortunately, as this

is my first field experience, I did not have the opportunity to solve teaching problems or to be involved in

research programs of studies.
