Learner notes-*black and red (instructor dialogue is part of the notes); key phrases are
underlined and in italics.
Today we are going to learn how to access the system and record a color change/
behavior infraction in the attendance part of the system. Please fill in the missing
key phrases during the class and add any additional notes.
*The first step is logging into the system; to log into the system you must first enter your user
name and then your password.
(Instructor demonstrates, the learners then follow and also log in.)
You now have access to the attendance/behavior information for the students in each
of your classes. Lets review the color chart that was discussed during orientation in
August. The behavior tracking system is based on colors:
*
No infractions
Warning-no entry needed
2nd warning-data entered into the
system
3rd warning-data updated,
administration intervention.
*During class Joe Average is acting up, he has already received a warning and is on yellow; he
continued the behavior, received a 2nd warning and is now placed on blue. The
teacher/paraprofessional now needs to enter the information into the system. To do this you
must access the attendance menu.
(Using a laptop and the projector the instructor will demonstrate this and show how to enter the
information for the chosen student.)
*Joe Average got his act together, but you realized that you forgot to log an additional comment
and the entry needs to be edited. If an entry needs to be edited go to the class that the student
is in and click on their name to bring up the file, click on the edit button and continue.
(The instructor will also demonstrate this step for the learners)
Lets review the steps and see how we are doing

Now that you have a general understanding of how to enter a color change, using
your notes you are going to demonstrate or teach the process to a partner. Each of
you will take turns. Please log out, choose who will go first and begin. You will have
10 minutes altogether to complete this.
(The students will be given 10 minutes to complete the task.)
Are there any questions? Before leaving please complete the quiz, you may use your
notes.
