I DO

Watch a short video on trucks (all types) and

have students pair-share what they know
about trucks. Tell students that we are going
to read a story and tell them to think about
the main events. Remind students that we
discussed what a main event was last weekhave one of the students remind what a main
event is. Read the story out loud to students
while posting 3 main events that are
important to the teacher. Teacher will give
definitions of vocab through movement (ex:
Jack pushed, everyone stand up and lets
pretend to push. Model a pushing
movement.)

Body:
WE DO

Reread the story, have students stop the story

as they hear a main event and have them
come up and post a picture of the event on
the timeline, if no picture is available we can
draw one together! Max-3

Close:
YOU DO

Students will create their own timelines using

events on the board and events they saw
from the story. Ask them discuss their timeline
with a partner and then present in groups.
(Oral Development)
Students will then create a skit with the
events they came up with on their time lines
in a small group to present to the class.
