    politicizeandraiseawarenessinourmigrantcommunity.WEEInc.isanonprofitorganization
    designedtoeducate,advocate,protectandadvancetherightsofimmigrants,refugees,
    lowincomewomenandtheirfamiliesthroughorganizing,leadershipdevelopmentandservice
    delivery.WomenEncouragingEmpowermentbelievesthatonlythroughpoliticaleducationcan
    weengagemembersofthecommunityinidentifyingsharedconcernsandsetgoalsforsocial
    change.
    Yournoblesupportwouldmakeadifferenceindevelopingnewleadersinourvast
    immigrantcommunitywhofacedailydiscrimination,racialprofiling,andarecompletely
    unrepresentedandsilencedinawhitedominatedcity.Ourorganizinggoalistoenhance
    communityinvolvementbyincreasingourmembershipandhavingthreenewcommunityleaders
    helpbringawarenessandachieveamorewelcomingandimmigrantfriendlyenvironment.
    WeestimatetheprogramtobeginonJune7,2015andlastuntiltheendofDecember
    2016.WomenEncouragingEmpowermentwillbecollaboratingwithlocalandnationalforces,
    suchastheHispanicBlackGayCoalition,BlackandPink,TheFirstCongregationalChurchof
    Revere,andTheAlabamaCoalitionforImmigrantJustice,tonameafew.Ourplan,istopresent
    biweeklyworkshopstoourmembersthataddressessentialsocialjusticetopicslikeknowing
    yourhousingrightsregardlessofyourimmigrantstatus,internalizedracismandthecreationof
    illegalimmigration,theschooltoprisonpipelineandbeingknowledgeableonhowtoactwhen

    stoppedbylawenforcementwithandwithoutimmigrationstatus.Weexpectourmigrantleaders
    tocommunicatethisknowledgewithothermigrantresidentsandfeelpersonallypassionateto
    createchangeinthecommunity.WomenEncouragingEmpowermentwouldleadaspringand
    fallcampaignin2016,afterworkshopsandleadershippositionshavebeenassignedtoournew
    members,addressingthetwosocialjusticetopicschosenandledbyournewmembersthatareof
    vitalurgency.
    Webelievethataftercompletingaseriesofsocialjusticeworkshopsoveraperiodof4
    monthswouldthemigrantmembersofourcommunitybeabletoarticulateboththeimmediate
    androotcausesofthesocialproblemstheyfaceintheirdailylives.Throughsocialeducation
    andempowermentinleadershippositionsintheranksofcityinterpreters,boardmembersof
    WomenEncouragingEmpowermentandoractiveparticipantsoftheOfficeofNewRevere
    Residents,willmigrantleadersbecomeawareoftheneedsoftheimmigrantcommunityandwill
    beabletoexpressanddemandtheirurgencytopublicofficials.Socialjusticeeducationwillbe
    thekeytocreatechangeinourcommunityandputanendtotheunequalrelationshipsandsocial
    patternsthatunderlietheissuesthatareputtingastraininourlives.

    Wewillbehonoredtosubmitafullproposalwithadditionalinformationforfurtherreview.
