BATTLEFIELD OF FAITH
Majority of concepts are from Truth Be Told; Basics in Catholic
Apologetics, by Mark Hart and Joe Cady
Question: Is it logical to believe in the Resurrection?-Pg. 21-25
No one can argue against the fact that Jesus tomb was empty. Scholars
and historical evidence agree on this. As to the explanation of the
absence of Christs body in the tomb, herein lies the debate.
Some individuals argue that the Resurrection is illogical based on
human logic or reasoning. The problem is that such individuals ignore
the fact that human reasoning is not perfect, or omniscient (allknowing). Human beings do not know everything. Despite our vast
scientific knowledge, who truly knows what is in the depths of earths
oceans or beyond the reaches of our galaxy? Science can only make
educated guesses at best, and cannot completely erase all uncertainties.
That said, human reasoning, and therefore, human beings do not have
all the answers. It takes some degree of faith and humility to admit that
if human logic cannot provide all the answers with unfailing certainty,
then it IS a possibility that Jesus rose from the dead. Here are a few
quick facts that point believers to the truth of the Resurrection:
Because the tomb had a Roman seal and skilled soldiers guarding
it, it is unlikely that a band of fishermen and tax collectors would
have been able to steal Jesus body.
Many who claimed to have witnessed the Risen Christ never
changed their claims about how the Resurrection was true, despite
all manners of torture and death.
The Catholic Church continues to be the largest institution in
human history. History has shown that anything founded on lies
does not stand the test of time.

There are no other religions where the founder claimed to be God

and rose from the dead. Jesus is the only religious leader whom
countless many claimed to have seen die and still be alive.

FAMILY MASS
April 24, 2016
CATHOLIC FAMILY CHALLENGE
What act of charity can you do for someone in your family? Is it taking
someone shopping and paying for something they like? Is it cooking
dinner? Is it hugging them and saying that you love them, especially if
you havent done so in a long time?

This is how all will know that you are

my disciples, if you have love for one
another.
