Merrill, Elizabeth. "'The Blind Side' Introduced Michael Oher, but Cam Newton's Text Rescued
His Career." ESPN. ESPN Internet Ventures, 1 Feb. 2016. Web. 02 Mar. 2016.
This source is a web article that explains how Panthers quarterback Cam Newton may
have potentially saved left tackle Michael Ohers career. According to Merrill, over the
offseason, Cam Newton sent a text message to Oher asking him to come to Carolina and protect
his blind side. It is called the blind side because the QBs cant see defensive pressure coming
from their back end. I feel this article shows what the Panthers organization is about.
The source is pretty credible since it is from an ESPN reporter. They are responsible for
keeping up with the sports world and giving facts. This source will help the project because it
shows that the Panthers are a tight knit group that trusts each other and build up confidence in
other players. The management basically hired the guy just because they trusted Cam Newtons
word and it worked out for them this season seeing that they made it to the Super Bowl. I really
liked this source because it was really interesting to see how the franchise player in Cam Newton
had the pull to do something like this in bringing Michael Oher over. I really hope to use this
source.

Journal." Charlotte Business Journal. N.p., 14 Sept. 2015. Web. 02 Mar. 2016.
This is a web article that explains how much the Panther organization is worth. They are
currently worth 1.56 billion dollars. Spanberg mentions how owner and founder Jerry
Richardson invested 200 million dollars to start up the organization. This article shows how
much the organization has blossomed since 1993.
I feel like this is a solid source because Spanberg is a Senior Staff Writer for the Charlotte
business journal. This source will show how the organizations worth has gone way up since it
was founded and how it has grown into the team it is today. The audience will find it interesting
how the NFL is a business and the home teams net worth. This source is usable because it shows
what the Carolina Panthers are now worth.

Fowler, Scott. Tales from the Carolina Panthers Sideline. Champaign, IL: Sports Pub. L.L.C.,
2004. Print.
This is a book source that explains the Carolina Panthers terrific 2003 season. It explains
how the organization turned everything around after a few horrible seasons in a row. Fowler was
able to get big names such as Jake Delhomme (then quarterback) and Steve Smith (then wide
receiver) to sit down and interview with him so that he could get thoughts from the people first
hand.

Gruneiro 3
This source is very credible because Fowler interviewed multiple people from the team.
That is direct information from players and coaches themselves. The audience will be able to
feel what the players felt and understand their thought processes after rising to the top, only to
lose in the final seconds of the Super Bowl. This source should be used to compare the 2003
season to the 2015 season.

"History." Audio RSS. N.p., n.d. Web. 02 Mar. 2016.

This web article is very interesting. It describes the very beginnings of the Carolina

the audience facts straight from the Panthers Organization. It is a very credible source because it

This web article give a biography about Franchise Quarterback Cam Newton. It tells the

Newton, who is the face of the Panthers franchise. This source is credible because its

This article will be used to show the audience who the face of the Carolina defense is and how
good of a guy he is. Sorenson notes that after practice, Luke stays back and signs autographs for
fans who watched. When asked about it, Luke responded with Those guys come out and watch
us, so we got to show a little appreciation. Weve got great fans, and we really appreciate those
guys coming out for us (Sorenson). It also gives other examples of how the linebacker is
overall a fantastic human being. The source is credible because it comes directly from the

This web article shows the work around the community that the Panthers organization
does. It is a credible source because it comes directly from the Panthers. This will be used to

community and the different things it represents. It is a very credible source because it comes
directly from the Panthers website again. It gives interesting facts which will be fun to share
with the audience.

Litman, Laken. "Cam Newton Took off His Cleats, Autographed Them for a Fan in a
Wheelchair." For The Win. N.p., 28 July 2014. Web. 02 Mar. 2016.
This is a web article that shows how good Cam Newton is to the fans. The article talks
about how Newton gave his cleats to a disabled fan after a practice. Its a very noble thing to do
this for someone who is a spectator. Newton does this a lot, and many players around the league
dont do it at all. This will show the audience an example of how great the face of the franchise

is to the people who follow it. That being said, it also shows how the Panthers do a great job
picking a good personality to represent the Franchise. The source is credible because USA today
is a very solid news source read by many every day. I think this source can be used in our
presentation.
