Goal no.

Action Plan

What will you accomplish?

(Goal statement)

I will improve my pacing when teaching.

What does it look like when youve

accomplished your goal?
I.e., How will you know you have achieved
your goal?
What are the indicators of success or
progress? (Assessment)

My lessons will run smoothly.

Timeline:
The students will be engaged
(By when?)
throughout the lesson. The

amount of wait time for the
students will be reduced. I will
know that I have achieved
positive feedback in this area
from my teacher associate. I will
feel like things are clicking in
my lessons.
It is important to have age appropriate pacing to help
students be engaged in the lesson. It also helps with
classroom management. The less time the students have
nothing to do the less they will be off task.

Rationale:
Why is it important?

Pre-assessment:
What assets and/or liabilities currently exist?
How can you take advantage of your assets
and minimize your liabilities?
Who or what can help?

Action plan:
How will you accomplish your goal?
What will you do?
By when?

and be a better teacher

1. I tend to be a bit
scatter brained.
2.I lose track of time.
3.I get nervous and
forgetful

Actions/steps to be taken
(What will you do?):
1. Be aware of my pacing.
2. Have items for transitions
easily accessible to improve
pacing.
3. Look at suggested lesson
plans from resources.

I have made improvements in my pacing in the last few weeks of my practicum. The feedback is
for a Grade 1 lesson, this lesson had the students engaged the whole time. The lesson is for a
Grade 4 class that was engaged the whole time and was a very good class.
