Dear Members of the Hiring Committee,


As a senior at Saint Michaels College preparing to graduate this May with a bachelors degree in
Business Administration, I submit my application to the posted position of POSITION TITLE at
EMPLOYER with great enthusiasm and interest. In addition to my major, my marketing concentration,
and minor in accounting, my academic experiences are rooted in a four-year liberal arts education where I
have been able to expand my horizons and become a well-rounded thinker. My liberal arts education has
taught me to think critically and outside the box, an asset to the kinds of marketing work that characterize
this position.
I am qualified for the position not only because of my organizational and communication skills, but also
because I enjoy learning and I am very adaptable. As a former intern for Gibbons P.C. for over 5 years, I
was able to expand my knowledge of accounting and build my reputation as a responsible, hardworking
employee. Each year that I was invited to return for summer and December breaks, I grew new skills and
gained increased responsibility in areas such as finance, accounts payable, payroll, and Microsoft Excel.
In fact, I was recently invited back during my senior spring break to teach Excel tools to the current crop of
interns.
My various co-curricular and leadership experiences as a student at Saint Michael College have
strengthened my ability to work with others, and with these capabilities I am certain I will be able to help
your company succeed. For the last two years, I have worked as the grill master, coordinating the
residence life offices late night weekend grilling with the goal of feeding students and providing a
substance-free late night alternative. I scheduled and supervised over 80 resident assistants working the
grill on the weekends. This experience taught me a lot about myself as a planner and a team member,
leading by example and never afraid to get my hands dirty along with my colleagues. As the admission
offices overnight coordinator, I was able to plan and market Saint Michaels College to over 140 high
school juniors and seniors annually. I was able to apply what I learned in my marketing courses to
optimally incentivize and recruit a current student host for each one of our guests.
Being President and Vice President of the Martin Luther King Jr. Society has allowed me to become a
strong leader and be attentive to working with an executive board of student leaders. We met once a
week to discuss ideas and plan programs for the entire campus community. As an e-board member for
Girl Talk, I learned to work with strong, independent women and develop my listening and communication
skills.
I have a huge desire to learn and grow. I hope with this position I will be able to do just that. Ive attached
