b) Post It Note Strategy- If a student is
inattentive, teachers can implement a reward
system with post it notes. They can accumulate a
certain amount of post it notes that equal a reward
or prize such as computer time or reading time.
This will motivate the student to pay attention to
class and the lessons.
2) School absences- Due to doctor visits they may

pace and make the stress of the student less than
what they are already experiencing.
b) Foldable- Due to the amount of school missed
by the student, a foldable can help prioritize and
organize all they work they need to get done in the
following week.

1) Low social skills- Due to how much school they

way, but it also improves their social skills and
develops friendships. They also wont feel singled
out because the entire class is participating.
b) PALS- This strategy can be used in this
situation because a student who is always in class
can help the student who is not there all the time
by getting them caught up on material and just
talking with the. This allows the student to build
meaningful connections with their peers.

2) Low participation- If a student is missing a lot of

school, they may be nervous or discouraged about
answering questions in class or giving input in class
discussions.

a) Response Cards- Because the student is not in

class all the time, they may be less willing to
participate in the class discussions and answering
questions. With response cards, this will allow the
students to participate without being worried about
feeling embarrassed if they are not sure if they are
correct or not.
b) Choral Responding- This is yet another
strategy that will allow the student to not be
singled out if they are unsure of their answer. With
choral responding, they are all answering at once,
so they can choose not to answer but hears the
correct answer so they are still learning.

they can utilize their time efficiently so if they use
a graphic organizer, they are able to see an
overview and get everything done to where they
can still get rest.
b) Post It Note Strategy- If a student is constantly
sleepy in class, post it notes can help by the
teacher and student having a system of their own.
The different colored post its can mean different
things and the teacher can let the student know
when they are doing great or when they need to
get back on task and perk up.
2) Mobility Issues- Depending on the illness they
may be too tired to move around or the student may
be in a wheel chair.

a) Response Cards- If a student is unable to move

around the classroom easily, using response cards
rather than coming to the board to write down an
answer would be great. They would all be
participating and at their own seats.
b) Visual Schedules- A visual schedule can be a
huge help to students with mobility issues. If they
are aware that they will be transitioning
somewhere within the class or outside of the class
they are able to either prep or get a head start to
move to the next spot.
