Alcohol
alcohol is produced by the fermentation of yeast, sugars, and
starches
it is a central Nervous system depressant that is rapidly absorbed
from the stomach and small intestine into the bloodstream
a colorless volatile flammable liquid
intoxicating constituent of wine, beer, spirits, and other drinks
used as an industrial solvent
used as fuel

Drunk driving
crash with BAC of 0.8 or higher is considered an alcohol impaired
crash
still remains a leading cause of injury and deaths in the U.S
lead to tragic accidents that may cause death
DUI have high cost, both human and financial
DUI can be crippling for drivers, who have to pay expensive fines
and court costs

Physical and Mental/emotional Health


addiction to alcohol can lead to loss of self control
will want more and more alcohol
may run risk of developing liver disease
also increases risk of developing arthritis, cancer, heart disease,
kidney disease, obesity, and nervous disorders

Social health
may begin to withdraw from family and friends
develop a new social circle (that consists of people with similar
addiction)
may have trouble remaining a meaningful relationship
