Reflection Paragraph
Life History Interview

While conducting this interview, I learned how different someones experience in this
country can be simply based on what they look like at birth. I also learned about the many
different privileges I have in this country because of who I am in societys eyes. This assignment
changed my view of the world in a way. I knew there was a privileged class but I wasnt as aware
as I should be about where that comes from, why that is, and what societal benefits I have
because of who I am. It changed the assumption I had that everyone has a fair go at life in this
country and that sadly just isnt the case. My experiences in this class were very positive and I feel
very lucky to have made the friends I have made in this class and to have learned the things I
have learned. They will stay with me for a lifetime.
