Reflection:
What went well, is the children could identify the elements of the informal letter, they understand what is the emotional
words and 2A sentences are. The instructions for the first activity was clear, since the children understood what to do,
and some of them wrote lots of the 2A sentences, but I dont think they understood the emotional word sentences, only
one child gave me a sentence for it. For the second activity, I re-told the instruction since I said the wrong one at the
beginning, but that didnt affect too much, as the children were able to complete their informal letter template.
It would be better if I modeled for the children, what they can write in their informal letter, so they would carry on with
the activity without asking so many questions. So, next time I will model the writing for the children and give more
examples as many as the children will understand.
What did the children learn? How do I know this?
The children learnt the types of the informal letter, and the elements that a letter should include.
I knew it when they referred the types of the letter to the guided reading session, which I have done with them in the
past week, and they could fill up the template with the necessary information in its right place.
