Choose an external organisation that has successfully implemented a major strategic
change e.g. McDonalds in the face of increased competition and a raised awareness of healthy eating. Research how the change was approached and implemented by the organisations leadership and what made the implementation successful. Identify 3 key learning points that you can apply within your own work context when leading change. Now choose an example where a major strategic change has not be as successful e.g. Royal Mail Deliveries name change to Consignia. What factors contributed to the change being unsuccessful? How could it have been managed more effectively? Is there anything you can learn from this?
