Expression Feelings
a. Definition of Expressings Feelings
Feelings are potentially highly constructive since it is through experiencing and
expressing feelings that close friendships are built and maintained, David Johnson, Reaching Out
(page 87). Communication is at the heart of relationships, and feelings are at the heart of
effective communication. Expression is frequently used word or phrase or it is a way to convey
your thoughts, feelings or emotions.
b. Asking about Feelings
To ask about feelings you can use the following questions:

How are you feeling today?

You look sad / upset. Are you OK?

You seem a little bit distracted. Are you alright?

You seem kind of low today. What's wrong?

You seem a little blue today. What's the matter?
