s The title of this video seemed to suggest it would provide information about Lake Norman in a
documentary-style video. However, this video seemed to provide very little information about
Lake Norman that could be beneficial to this project. This video acted more as a commercial to
draw certain individuals to living in the area and offered information that was too shallow to
include in the project.
Since this information in this video was so shallow it does not seem to be a resource that will
benefit the project in any way.

This article offers a rich history of Lake Norman and even provides a bit of history of the
Catawba River prior to its damming. This source also provides information on why the lake was
created and who was involved in its creation. Along with historical information, there are other
interesting facts that could be useful in the presentation. An example of one of these facts is,
“It (Lake Norman) is sometimes called an Inland Sea, with over 520 miles of beautiful
shoreline.”
Because of the rich historical information and interesting facts, this article is an excellent source
for the presentation. The information provided will allow the group to hit some of the major
points to be included in the presentation.

This article also provides helpful historical information. However, rather than just a basie
history, this source gives a history of how the lake districts have changed over time because of
the lake. The article provides examples of certain cities and they have changed because of Lake
Norman, “Population figures since 1990 show Davidson doubled, Mooresville tripled, Cornelius
quintupled, and Huntersville grew sevenfold.” Information about how the dialect and ways of
life have changed in surrounding areas is provided.
Because the article provides a different type of Lake Norman history, it wi limension to the
historical information about Lake Norman that will be in the presentation.

While some information in this article may be repetitive, parts of it such as the information about
the Overcash family’s land being underwater, can be used to make interesting points in the

While | thought this video might be an interesting resource to use as a visual aid the presentation,
it tured out to be what seemed like a another commercial for a real estate agency. The video
provided footage of Lake Norman and its surrounding areas, but it was presented in a way that
‘wasn’t interesting and quite frankly, isn’t worth using as a resource or visual aid.
The footage in the video is not presented in a way that is interesting, nor does the video offer any
extra information. It isn’t useful for the presentation,

This article simply provides a brief bullet list of locations that had been on the flooding sight of
the lake, while other sources have provided more detail about this topic.
While the information in this article could be potentially helpful, itis too shallow. Other sources
have provided the same information with more detail. This source won’t be as beneficial to the
