people are averse to happiness because
bad things, such as unhappiness, suffering
and death, tend to happen happy people.

I think this statement is ridiculous because

these things happen to anyone not just happy
people.

Similarly, there exists a cultural myth that

portrays unhappy people as more creative
than sad people Pg. 272

I do not think this is an accurate statement

because I think that anyone can be creative
and their state of being has nothing to do with
it.

Individuals in many cultures have also

issued warnings about actively pursuing
happiness Pg. 274

Any person that would say this is most likely

unhappy themselves and wants to bring
others down to their state of unhappiness and
doesnt like to see happy people.

Many Western writers have also found

reasons to despise the pursuit of happiness
in the individualistic sense Pg.275

I think that it is important to do things to help

the whole you also have to do things for you
own because you can only help others if you
are the best that you can be.
