Definition of colonization &


colonizer

Colonization: is the forming of a settlement or colony usually through the


migration into a new area, and expanding the civilization and culture of that area.
Colonizer: a group of people who wish to take control of territories or countries.

The French colonization included
various islands and archipelagos (a
group of islands) located in the North
Atlantic, the Caribbean, the Indian
Ocean, the South Pacific, the North
Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean, as well
as one mainland territory in South
America.
The French managed to create cultural
and linguistic links across the world.
They competed for the land they wished
to obtained, which wasnt easy.

The Dutch
The Dutch Empire is the name given to the
various territories controlled by the
Netherlands.
The Dutch followed Portugal and Spain in
colonizing outside of Europe.
Intended to colonize: Taiwan, Malacca,
Deshima, New Holland, Iran, and Pakistan,
but only managed to have trading posts.
Colonized: Dutch West Indies, Surinam,
Guyana, and Brazil.
Main reason of colonization was for trade,
and the production of goods.
