Message from Mr. Hackbusch

5/18 Scholarship Convocation Ceremony 6:30pm at the

Peppermill

This is the last newsletter for the 2015-2016 school year---can you
believe it? I cant. As I write this newsletter I am filled with
emotion as I observed our Leadership students, staff and
volunteers come together last weekend to host the most amazing
NASC Leadership Conference I have ever seen. There were
approximately 1400 extra students and staff on campus from
Wednesday evening through Saturday. The theme was TAKE THE
LEAD and our program did exactly that!

5/27 SR Assembly and Luncheon

Then We the People traveled to DC. They had to fundraise

$80,000 in little less than a month and they did it! Thank you to all
our donors and the parents who both funded their student along
with many of them making the trip themselves. We the People
then went on the national stage and earned the Western Regional
Winner as a Wild Card!
Reno High was ranked 7th state-wide factoring in many metrics.
We are one of the largest high schools on the list and we compete
against Magnet schools who take applications for enrollment.
Very distinct honor!
May is the month of testing. Students will be taking the End of
Course Exams, Advanced Placement Exams and Finals. Please
make sure students are eating a good breakfast with protein,
drinking water and getting a good night sleep. Please also limit
video gaming 48 hours prior to exams.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please join us in
honoring our dedicated and talented teachers! They go above and
beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. I am so fortunate to see
them in action every day!!!

Finals Schedule:
June 6-7th period final
June 7-1st and 2nd period finals
June 8-3rd and 4th period finals

which has over 200 cadets in it, went through its program for accreditation last month. The accreditation process is an
overall inspection of the program that takes place once a year. The program received a 98.25%, and was graded on service
learning projects, community service projects, how well the cadets performed in company level inspections in their uniforms,
goals, classwork and overall retention. The program is quickly approaching its 100th year at Reno High School. 2019 will be the

Hiring Season

GRAD RATE TRACKER

We are amidst the hiring season. Here is a

current update on our staff movement this
spring.

Per our district data report, our current senior class

is 84% ON TRACK for graduation in June. We are
aiming for 88-89%. This includes pending HSPE
scores, semester grades and credit recovery efforts.
We continue to push students toward the finishline. Students needing 1 or more HSPE Exams
should be getting supports already. If you have any
questions regarding supports offered at our school,
contact your son/daughters counselor ASAP.
Monitor your attendance. 10 or more unexcused
absences will result in a failing grade even if
students are passing academically. Double check
attendance!
