the three gunman and 17 others dead, show that acts against Muslims and Jews are
definitely on the rise. Hollande also noted that anti-Semitic acts have increased, even
doubled, from 2013. He promised to punish anyone who carried out these types of racist
or anti-Semitic acts.
The vandalism of the Jewish graves took place in Sarre-Union, France. This is the
same place where Francois Hollande gave the speech about rising acts of violence. The
coordinates of Sarre-Union are 48.9400 N, 7.0900 E The satirical magazine shooting
as well as the kosher grocery store shooting took place in Paris, France, again leaving
twenty people dead. The coordinates of Paris, France are 48.8567 N, 2.3508 E.
The article states, The growing sense of insecurity has pushed some French Jews
to move to Israel, urged on by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus calls for the
mass immigration of European Jews. This shows an example of the movement of

people. The Jews are fleeing France because they are afraid of being killed. Many Jews
feel threatened in their own homed and workplaces. This is why many decided to move to
Israel, where they feel more secure.
This article had examples of not only physical regions, but also cultural regions.
The physical region, obviously, would be Europe, or more specifically, France. The
cultural aspect would be of two cultures, or religions: Jewish and Muslim, but also Islam.
The religion of Islam would find it appropriate to attack a magazine company for
mocking their religion, while this would put the Muslim community on edge. The
Jewish religion is in a state of insecurity, so we see their whole culture region shift or
scatter around, mostly out of France and into Israel. All of these would be examples of
regions.
This should be an article that everyone should read, or an event that everyone
should at least know about. This event had a huge impact o France. Now, there will most
likely be stricter laws against racism or anti-Semitism. Also, the countries population of
Jews decreased due to the increase in violence against them. The vandalism of the 250
graves will lead to more security around cemeteries, and more security all around to
insure the protection of all French citizens.
