Was now the best time for America to start relations with Cuba again?
An Annotated Bibliography Concerning Full Relations with Cuba
One result of the Cold War was President John F. Kennedy signed the U.S. embargo on
February 1962 and has been in full effect until after a natural disaster in 2001 when food
was allowed to be sent to Cuba. The Embargo was done to reduce the threat to the
United States from Cuba by its alignment with the communist powers of the World.

Points of view story that reviews out some of the Cubans government suppression of its
own people. With terror attacks happening in Brussels and the Cuban security officers
attacking and arresting peaceful protesters Mr. Anzaldo states that President Obama could
have easily canceled his visit. Mr. Anzaldo also brings two agreeing points of view to
help his point of view, citing Ben Rhodes, the Deputy National Security Adviser. That
said, United States is not a hostile nation seeking regime change, and the president
will make very clear that thats up to the Cuban people. 2nd is quoting 2016 Republican
presidential contender Sen. Ted Cruz a sad day in American history.
This fellow college student seems to say it best and could have included More prison
time given to the Cubans, because of a false hope for American freedoms.

Obamas historic and friendly visit to Cuba comes on the heals of the Cuban Commission
on Human Rights and National Reconciliation during the month of March and talks about
the number of political arrest from protesters. The Commission said most disturbing
and condemnable cases is the brutal beating a member received Yuri Valle Roca by the
secret political police agents on March 20th.
Many Cubans have their lives changed during Obamas visit, many getting beat and
imprisoned for disagreeing or protesting the Cuban government. This helps prove there
has been little to no change in how Cuba treats its citizens from 1962.

HAVANA (Reuters) - Retired leader Fidel Castro accused U.S. President Barack Obama
of sweet-talking the Cuban people during his visit to the island last week and ignoring the
accomplishments of Communist rule, in an opinion piece carried by all state-run media
on Monday.
The previous leader past decisions are responsible for the Embargo still has contempt for
the United States of America and will probably will until his death. Regardless the steps
are in motion for the U.S. to have full relations in the years to come.

Cuba doesnt need empire for anything. CNN.com. 29 Mar 2016

"It is time for us to look forward to the future together -- a future of hope," Obama said in
a speech that was carried on Cuban state-TV. "And it won't be easy, and there will be
setbacks. It will take time. But my time here in Cuba renews my hope and my confidence
in what the Cuban people will do. We can make this journey as friends, and as neighbors,
and as family -- together."
With Fidel Castro speaking out and stating the Cuba doesnt need the U.S. for anything is
just another apposing view from Obamas. The Cuban government is now hurting more
of its people just because of Obamas visit. The treatment of the Cuban citizens by the
Government is just one of the reasons for the embargo.

American Cuban normalization information is all factual toward making President
Obama and his American-Cuban policies appear promising

When researching this topic and reviewing story after story knowing the reasons behind
the transition of the Cuban government I believe the U.S. Embargo was the best and
safest option. Many improvements and advancements of the world have been taking
place without our close neighbors involvement. The Cuban people have not seen most
of the advancements or the freedoms that are common most places. History has shown
that the Embargo seems to have run its course and another method could be used to plant
the seeds of freedom and give the Cubans citizen hope for a better and safer future.
When there is such a difference of opinions on starting relations now or later there is one
common ground I found, timing.
