A PUPPY FINDS A HOME

Once there was a little puppy. He had no brothers. He had no

sisters. He was very lonely. So he walked and walked and
walked. He looked here. He looked there. H was looking for a
home. Soon he came to a big gate. He went through the big
gate and up some steps to a big door. A big black dog came
out and growled. He growled once. He growled twice. The
little puppy turned and jumped down the steps. He bounced
through the gate and ran down the road.
Thats no home for me! He said.

All day long he ran. He stopped here. He stopped there.

He stopped at every house. But no one gave him a home.
Soon he was tired. So he lay down under a tree and cried
and cried and cried.
Gamini and Mala were there in their garden. They heard a
cry. They ran out to the road. A little puppy came up to
them. He was wagging his tail.
This is a friendly little puppy. Lets take him
home, said Gamini.
